Purpose of Volunteer Role: The Campground Host supports park operations by providing excellent customer service to park visitors, assisting customers with reservations, and general campground maintenance.

General Responsibilities:

·         Safety first – Volunteer must be trained by a park ranger on equipment prior to use. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.

·         Respond to visitor, staff, and volunteer requests in an attentive and respectful manner.

·         Assist with campground guest check-in, registering reservations, & checkout.

·         Provide excellent customer service for park visitors by giving out accurate information about the park, park activities, and the surrounding areas.

·         Provide assistance to staff by restocking brochures, maps, and registration slips.

·         Provide campground maintenance, including cleaning out fire pits, blowing, raking, sweeping, & litter pick up.

·         Operate utility vehicles (golf carts, gators, etc.).

·         Support, sell, and restock firewood for 3 hours Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday evenings, but be reasonably available for sales as need by customers. Change fund will not be issued; money from sales will be dropped into the payment box after each sale.

·         Provide maintenance, cleaning, and support for transfer station and recycling station.

·         Provide general restroom maintenance, including wiping down sinks, dumping garbage, and restocking supplies.

The Maintenance & Camp Relief Campground Host supports park operations by providing excellent customer service to park visitors and general campground maintenance. This position will be responsible for cleaning campsites 2 days a week, cleaning and registering incoming cabin reservations 2 days per week and performing maintenance duties 1 day per week. Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 – 30 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. Days off will be Saturdays & Sundays. This position will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining sites 1 through 27 including hiker biker camp in the Upper loop campground and sites 28 through 34, as well as sites 87 through 95 in the lower loop campground while the lower loop is open from May through October. Tseriadun (pronounced serry-AH-dun) is popular with visitors stretching their legs on the miles-long beach, agate collectors (there's a reason the community calls it Agate Beach) and photographers intent on capturing the perfect shots of offshore rocks and headlands. Long ago, Native Americans lived at the site in cedar plank houses and hunted and fished in the mountains and rivers. Now, you can fish for rainbow trout and native cutthroat trout in Garrison Lake.


The Day-Use Host provides service for a park that is only open to visitor day-use and does not provide overnight facilities for visitors. The Day-Use Host is the only individual allowed to stay overnight in the park at a designated park host site.
