Volunteer: Willamette Mission Shop / Maintenance host NOT CONFIRMED (expressing interest only)

Maintenance tasks.
conduct equipment servicing and repairs:
various 2-cycle equipment, mowers, tractor, power tools
Determine and request service and repair parts.
Shop-yard organization (Trash Pulling, Blowing Debris from Yard, and hand/power tool organization in shop and tool shed)

Landscaping tasks
Mowing/ Mulching (spring/fall/summer) on uneven terrain
Nov – May (Park wide) June – Oct Upper Park (main road, upper parking lot, vision trail, shop yard)
Monitor Park trails: Vision, Mission, and Bike Trail
Leaf /debris blowing Every Friday or as needed on trails and parking areas. Year round.
Tractor work: hauling, moving, mowing, burn pile, etc.
Assist Rangers with high priority field work.

Other tasks
Closing or opening park gates per posted park hours as backup, if park staff isn’t present (Required function) May flex RTO
Litter patrol/Trash pickup though out park Nov-May then main focus upper park June - Oct.
light facility cleaning (floor sweeping and Toilet paper changing) As Back up help when opening.
Engaging Daily with Public answer questions and provide information to Park visitors.

Park Host Projects:
Assisting Rangers with safety repairs and projects
Shop and park maintenance projects using power tools; carpentry, pressure washing, paint spraying, etc.
Shop and shop yard cleanup
Help with Park sign maintenance.

Host Sites: Located at the park office/yard; Full hook-up, 50-amp, Septic, Gated, Washer/dryer available.

Engage with park visitors providing park history or other information with pamphlets or communications.

Keep host and reservation areas mowed and weeded.

Litter pickup throughout lower park reservable sites and trails (BBQ stands, horseshoe pits, picnic shelters and all camps).
Pull Trash as needed Throughout lower park and all Reserved shelters and camps placing Trash in Lower Park Dumpsters.
Check and replace dog waste bags located in lower park (2) each side of dog park.

Landscape maintenance
Mowing, weeding though out lower park around fences, signs, and high use areas (main areas All shelters and camps and picnic sites and Disc Golf Course)
Trimming/hedging brush out of all walking and biking Pathways/trails of all lower park trails Excluding (Horse Trail)


Other tasks

Assist staff with setup and presence at special events.

Assist staff with facility regular or special repair’s; pressure washing, painting structures, light carpentry generally being (fence rails& posts, decking rails or floorboards
Open gates as needed If staff aren’t available

On duty 5 days a week from hours between 7am to posted park closure (Days off usually) Monday & Tuesday
(reasonable accommodations can be looked at)
