Campground Host at Devil's Lake State Recreation Area - SCHEDULED from February 1, 2026 to February 28, 2026  

• Provide campground maintenance, including cleaning out fire pits, light landscaping, sweeping, litter pick up weed eating, mowing, hedging, raking and blowing. • Monitor and run garbage compactor as needed. • Operate golf carts. Minimum Required Qualifications: • Ability to take and follow direction with little supervision. • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers. • Maintain a courteous and positive attitude. • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. • Ability to travel on uneven terrain, as well as be stationary for long periods of time. • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions. • Must be able to adapt to change. • Physically capable of completing assigned tasks. Tasks will require motions like bending, twisting, crouching, stepping up, and lifting/reaching overhead. • Tasks will involve repetitive raking/shoveling motions and long periods of holding a leaf blower. Restricted Tasks: • Hosts may share information on park rules with visitors, but volunteers do not enforce rules or make initial contacts for rule infractions. This is only performed by Park Rangers with enforcement training.
