Bullards Beach is a large, family-oriented park located at the mouth of the Coquille River, two miles north of Bandon. The campground is nestled among shore pines and protected from strong ocean breezes. Visitors can enjoy strolling on the beach, riding horses, exploring a lighthouse and excellent fishing and crabbing in the river.
The Lighthouse Host provides service for Bullards Beach State Park by supporting staff in the gift store / interpretive center at the lighthouse. As a lighthouse host you will provide tours and historical information about the Coquille River Lighthouse and its historical context. You will manage the daily operations of the lighthouse store; this includes selling merchandise, stocking the displays, maintaining accurate logs of cash and credit card sales, filling out order requests, and transferring change funds and revenue to and from the park booth. You will also be expected to keep the lighthouse and surrounding area free of litter, sweep of the walkways, and keep the interior of the lighthouse clean. This position may include other duties that are not mentioned in this description.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 hours with two consecutive days off.
