Nestled in the heart of sunny central Oregon, Tumalo rests along Oregon's spectacular Deschutes River four miles north of Bend. Its location makes it an ideal base camp for any outdoor activity you could dream of: lush green golf courses, clear blue-ribbon trout steams, pristine alpine lakes, and miles of scenic hiking and mountain bike trails.
The Greeting Host provides service for Tumalo State Park by providing outstanding public contact, shows a caring presence, answers questions, helps to deter vandalism and continually improves park aesthetics. This volunteer provides a helpful visual presence and is the main customer service stop for incoming visitors and questions. Review the volunteer assignment description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate 6 hours per person per day, hours to be completed between the hours of 2:00 - 8:00 pm, with a dinner break. 5 days/week, Monday-Tuesday off. This position takes two people May-November. Due to how busy the park is during prime season.
