This shaded park is located on the Sandy River southeast of the Stark Street Bridge on the Historic Columbia River Highway (Hwy 30). A popular destination for fishing, boating and swimming, the park features a beach area that fills quickly in the summer months, as well as picnic tables and grills throughout. A picnic shelter can be reserved for events with up to 50 people. The shelter is next to a volleyball court and horseshoe pits. An 18-hole disc golf course is popular year-round, and is one of the most technical and challenging courses in the Northwest.
The Day Use Host provides service for Dabney State Recreation Area by supporting maintenance and operations of the park, opening park facilities, and observing park activity and reporting concerns to park staff. Review the volunteer assignment description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 – 30 hours/5 days of volunteer service each week, per host.
