Campground Host at Devil's Lake State Recreation Area - SCHEDULED from April 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026  

General Responsibilities: Keep watch on campground while campground is closed. Prep campground, restrooms, and yurts for reopening of campground in May Collect and dispose of pet waste in container daily and replace bags in dispenser. Monitor and run garbage compactor as needed. Assist with projects if needed. Provide campground maintenance, including cleaning out fire pits, landscaping, weed eating, blowing off campground roads and campsites, brush trimming, and litter pick up. Operate golf carts. Be a courteous and constructive member of our team. Communicate well with park staff and visitors. Be a positive, professional presence in the park. Answer questions about the park, what it has to offer, and places to see along the coast. Inform Rangers of maintenance needs Be the eyes and ears of the park: Inform OPRD staff if any problems or rules violations occur. Maintain lawns and landscaping. Utilize hand tools in accordance with OPRD safety trainings and directives such as: o Loppers o Litter pickers o Shovels o Rakes · Operate motorized equipment in accordance with OPRD safety trainings and directives such as: o Small utility vehicles o Push Mowers o Weedwhackers o Leaf Blowers Restricted Tasks: · Enforce park rules: Hosts may share information on park rules with visitors, but volunteers do not enforce rules or make initial contacts for rule infractions. This activity is only performed by paid park staff with enforcement training. Minimum Required Qualifications: · Be at least 18 years old. · Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. · Ability to travel on uneven terrain, as well as be stationary for long periods of time. · Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions.
