Purpose of Volunteer Role:
The Maintenance Host supports park operations by providing excellent customer service to park visitors and provides service for a park by supporting landscaping, general repair, special maintenance projects.
Amenities:
Laundry on site (Campground), use of golf cart or utility vehicle,
Site Information:
Paved pad, 50 & 30 -amp power, water and sewer provided. Picnic table and fire pit at site.
Length of Assignment: 1-3 months depending on availability and season. New hosts may only be offered a 1-month trial assignment (park specific).
General Responsibilities:
· Provide general site maintenance, including cleaning out fire pits, light landscaping, and sweeping.
· Respond to visitor, staff, and volunteer requests in an attentive and respectful manner.
· Litter picking day-use areas and parking lots.
· General landscaping duties including: pruning, raking, weeding, mowing, and trimming.
· Accomplish tasks using tools including: basic hand and power tools, blowers, and trimmers.
· Drive state vehicles.
· Operate utility vehicles (golf carts).

· Use of park vehicle required
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
· Ability to walk long distances, stand for long periods of time, perform repeated motions such as shoveling or raking.
· Ability to bend, crouch, twist, push and pull.
· Ability to travel on uneven terrain, as well as be stationary for long periods of time.
· Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions.

· Volunteers may NOT enforce park rules: Hosts may share information on park rules with visitors, but volunteers do not enforce rules or make initial contacts for rule infractions. This activity is only performed by paid park staff with enforcement training.
