Silver Falls State Park is the kind of standout scenic treasure that puts Oregon firmly onto the national—and international—stage. Its beauty, boundless recreational opportunities and historic presence keep it there.
The Campground Host provides service for Silver Falls State Park by supporting park operations by providing excellent customer service to park visitors and general campground maintenance.
Campground Host:
Increase the number of quality visitor experiences in the park by informing park visitors about park rules & regulations, providing visitors with park information, connecting visitors to park resources, participating in being an ambassador for the Junior Ranger Program & reporting to OPRD staff any safety hazards or rule violations that occur. Assist staff with campground upkeep of the park’s A & B loop campsites, keepings the camp sites clean (blowing parking pads and roadways, cleaning fire pits, picking up limbs), litter picking and checking / stocking brochures and a self-serve firewood shed. Assist with maintaining landscaping needs throughout the campground, including minor trimming, weeding, mowing & weed eating. Possibility of other assigned tasks by park staff depending on interests and abilities.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes Five days a week, approximately 4-6 hours each day to be completed between the hours of 9am – 9pm.
