Humbug Mountain State Park includes one of the Oregon coast’s highest headlands, which shelters an inviting, forest-ringed campground along Brush Creek. A trail from the campground leads under Highway 101 to a sandy beach beside the Brush Creek estuary.
The Campground Host supports park operations by providing excellent customer service to park visitors, assisting customers in registering reservations, & general campground maintenance. This position will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining sites 35 through 87 in the lower loop campground. Volunteer may be asked to assist upper loop hosts with camp site maintenance on large outgoing days. Review the Volunteer Assignment Description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 – 30 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. Days off will be Wednesdays & Thursdays. A schedule of expected duties will be provided to help with planning for that week, but anticipate 4-5 hours of service that will occur each day between 9:00 am - 8:00 pm.Service hours will need to occur in the break between Campsite check-in & check-out times, between 1:00 pm & 4:00 pm. The weekly schedule will include evening firewood sales on some evenings.
