Located at the state's westernmost tip, and perched over the Pacific Ocean, Cape Blanco State Park features a 19th-century lighthouse and an early Irish settler's home. Enjoy the park's history, trails and rugged coastline while serving as a volunteer.


The Maintenance & Camp Relief Campground Host supports park operations by providing excellent customer service to park visitors and general campground maintenance. This position will be responsible for cleaning campsites 2 days a week, cleaning and registering incoming cabin reservations 2 days per week and performing maintenance duties 1 day per week. Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 – 30 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. Days off will be Saturdays & Sundays. A schedule of expected duties will be provided to help with planning for that week, but anticipate 4-5 hours of service that will occur each day between 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. Service hours will need to occur in the break between check-in & check-out times, between 1:00 pm & 4:00 pm. The weekly schedule will include evening firewood sales on some evenings.
