Located at the state's westernmost tip, and perched over the Pacific Ocean, Cape Blanco State Park features a 19th-century lighthouse and an early Irish settler's home. Enjoy the park's history, trails and rugged coastline while serving as a volunteer.
The Cabin Host assists campground operations and improves visitor experience by providing direct service and support to the yurt and cabin program at the park. Review the Volunteer Assignment Description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 – 30 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. Days off will be Wednesdays & Thursdays. A schedule of expected duties will be provided to help with planning for that week, but anticipate 4-5 hours of service that will occur each day between 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. Service hours will need to occur in the break between check-in & check-out times, between 1:00 pm & 4:00 pm. The weekly schedule will include evening firewood sales on some evenings.
