Humbug Mountain State Park includes one of the Oregon coast’s highest headlands, which shelters an inviting, forest-ringed campground along Brush Creek. A trail from the campground leads under Highway 101 to a sandy beach beside the Brush Creek estuary.
The Maintenance Host provides service for a park by supporting landscaping, general repair, and special maintenance projects to ensure the lower loop is ready to reopen by May 1 st. Review the Volunteer Assignment Description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 – 30 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. Days off will be Saturdays & Sundayss. A schedule of expected duties will be provided to help with planning for that week, but anticipate 4-5 hours of service that will occur each day between 9:00 am - 8:00 pm. Service hours will need to occur in the break between Campsite check-in & check-out times, between 1:00 pm & 4:00 pm. The weekly schedule will include evening firewood sales on some evenings.
