Hilgard Junction State Park is next to Interstate 84 at its intersection
with Highway 244 near the Grande Ronde River. The park offers camping
and daytime activities among the cottonwood and ponderosa pine. The
Grande Ronde River flows through the park, enticing anglers, rafters and
swimmers. Beaver, mink, deer and a variety of birds inhabit the park
area and can be viewed throughout the year.
The camp host at Hilgard Junction State Park supports park operations by providing customer service to
park visitors, maintaining cabins, and assisting with general campground maintenance. Review the volunteer assignment description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes about 20 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. Service is performed between the hours of 11:00 am and 4:00 pm Friday - Tuesday.
