Located north of Florence in the Siuslaw National Forest, Washburne's creekside campground is just north of Heceta Head and about 10 miles south of Cape Perpetua. The campground is located on the east side of Highway 101, with a buffer of native plants and trees between its spacious, shady sites and the highway.
The interpretive host enhances the visitor experience by providing engaging information about park-specific natural as well as cultural history. Aiding Park staff with the Jr. Ranger Program. Review the Volunteer Assignment Description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes 20 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. Estimated 4 – 5 hours per day, developing programs, providing 1 to 2 interpretive programs (some evening) per scheduled day of work. Minimum 2 consecutive days off.
