Perched on a seawall with expansive ocean views and a large viewing deck, the Whale Watching Center in Depoe Bay is the perfect spot to see whales. Park staff and volunteers are ready to answer your questions and help you spot whales and other marine life. The center is equipped with binoculars for visitors, and displays feature facts about whales and information on what swimming patterns you might see.
Interpretive Hosts at the Whale Watch Center provide a service to the public. As both a park representative
and interpretive host, hosts provide and receive information related to marine mammals, coastal
wildlife, and general questions about the greater area. Review the volunteer assignment description for this position here.
Time Commitment: Volunteers should anticipate a schedule that includes about 20 hours of volunteer service each week, per host. The volunteer shifts occur 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm, and are scheduled for Wednesday-Sunday.
